80’s Comeback!

Hilfiger embraces the 80’s with acid washed skinny’s, rainbow prints & florals.

I love the shorts paired with colourful - slightly oversized tops! The socks & heels combo is not a favorite of mine but it is bang on trend with the current retro vibe hitting fashion around the world…

Washed-out T-shirts seems to be making a stamen as well, so keep all those old T’s from the 80’s & 90’s and salvage them with a casual blazer for a trendy retro look.

Men’s Autumn 2011 Collection

Groovy Mood

Roberto Cavalli’s 2011 autumn collection “Groovy Mood” is also playing on the retro revamp trend that seems to be taking the fashion world by storm this year – with 70’s inspired 3piece suits and layered jackets/coats. Cinched waists, defined shoulders and peaked lapels are extremely prominent in this collection and the latest BIG men’s trend the “semi-slouchy pant” was also integrated in this semi-formal look.

I’m not 100% convinced about the “grungy beardy” models used in the Fashion show but the collection it self was pretty sophisticated and trendy! Another HUGE trend showed up in this collection as well – the layered jacket/coat look, with 3 piece suits styled with an additional coat or dinner jacket this trend seems to be making its way around every men’s collection so far!

PETA beware because it does seem like Roberto Cavalli used real fur in this collection…

Montreal Museum of Fine Art will be collaborating with Jean Paul Gaultier this coming June to showcase over 120 pieces of this iconic and provocative designer. This exhibition marks the 35^th anniversary of the Jean Paul Gaultier label – spanning from 1976 to present!

Unfortunately this extravaganza of style and fashion will be hosted in Canada but here are some couture creations that is sure to be on show:

“Drink Coca-Cola” & “Mickey Mouse” prints is the feeling that made up D&G”s new retro inspired range. Supper laidback and colourful tops combined with the newest in men’s pants – the “semi-slouchy” pant hit the runway at the D&G show.

Faux fur coats also added to the old Hollywood glam feel, personally I love them paired up with the 50’s inspired T’s, Ties and Blazers!
